Junior sporter and precision air rifle shooters will meet on the firing line June 23-28 for the CMP Three Position National Championship and the USA Shooting 3P Junior Olympics at the Gary Anderson Competition Center in Camp Perry, Ohio.

Junior JROTC, 4-H and club team marksmen involved in the competition began their journey with the CMP Postal Competition in November, where CMP-issued targets were mailed into Headquarters for official scoring. Top shooters in the Postal Competition were invited to compete in the Regional Championships in March and April, with the overall high individuals and teams from that match qualifying for the National Championship.

The event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to visit the world-class Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center to witness extreme skill from tremendously talented juniors, as well as to explore the authentic Olympic memorabilia from two-time gold medalist and range namesake, Gary Anderson.

Winning individuals of the CMP National Championship will receive cash prizes and medals. MidwayUSA, the official sponsor of the event, will also be awarding significant monetary donations to winning teams.

MidwayUSA is the official sponsor of the CMP National Three Position Air Rifle Championship – having contributed over $460,000 towards the competition. The organization is a leading U.S. firearms retailer, committed to helping sustain junior shooting programs around the country by offering generous endowments. First place teams in the sporter and precision competitions will receive $10,000 towards their team’s MidwayUSA endowment, while second and third place teams will earn $7,500 and $5,000, respectively.

Junior marksmen participating in the CMP National Championship will also be competing in the USA Shooting National 3P Junior Olympics. Sporter competitors will fire on Tuesday, June 24, while precision competitors will follow on Friday, June 27. The National Junior Olympics will also be held in the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center.
