This is awesome news. I already put Mrs. D/2 on notice that it'll be my next acquistion. She put me on notice to start prostituting myself.

Orest...
So you've received somewhere between 10,000-99,000 carbines! Any chance of you sharing which # it's closer to? And...are there any M1A1s in this lot? And (last question)...will you be selling them by contractor as well as SG, FG, & RG?
Thanks,
Dion

I don't think the CMP itself knows what carbines they have. I'm guessing it could be some time before they are seperated, graded, and inspected. Sounds like there is enough.
Have your orders ready to go.

Yes - we will sell by manufacturer. No M1A1s. Closer to 10 than 99.

Great news Orest. Will there be a limit on the number of Carbines as there is for the Garands?
Happy New Year to you and your outstanding staffs

Orest,

Just curious if any of these carbines have a selector switch for full auto capabilities? I believe those types were classified as the M2 carbine. My state lists the M1 carbine as an "assault rifle" and is basically restricted from ownership. Hopefully I can get around this so I can finally get my hands on one for my collection.

Hi Brian, If your state considers the M1 carbine to be an "assault weapon" and does not allow private ownership, I don't think you can expect them to allow private ownership of an M2 carbine. Since an M2 carbine is considered to be a class III firearm, I expect that the CMP will not have any available anyway. Rick

I know Rick. Maybe I phrased it the wrong way? I just want to know if all of the carbines that will be available are the M1 version...or if there will be a mix of M2s in the crates.

I'm not Orest, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn, once.

Once a machine gun, always a machine gun!

The CMP will not have any M2's transfered to them.

Orest, sorry for stealing your thunder.

Only M1 carbines. have not even thought about limits and won't debate this until after we've inspected several thousand and know what we have.
