I ENJOY THE CMP EMAIL INFORMATION LETTER. THANK YOU
JODI
As always, a great job! Thanks for your efforts.
Best,

Kudo’s on a great way of getting interesting stories out to the public on my favorite rifle, the infamous M1 Garand. It never ceases to amaze me about how CMP continues to “think out of the box”. As a retired US Marine…and a self-acknowledged “Garand Expert”, I’m humbled by all that I yet do not know about the M1. Your publication is both humbling to this ol Jarhead and informative. I learn something new with each issue.

Great publication...I couldn't help but relate to the letter of that father getting the Garand with his son...if only we could bottle the emotions and values reflected in that letter we could look forward to a better world. Keep this publication going it is a boon to all shooters...BTW, are there any technical columns planned for in the future?

I enjoy the First Shot newsletter more than the American Rifleman. Good photos and timely articles are the key to success. Keep up the good work.

Camp Perry Recreational Park Construction is Underway

By Sommer Wood, Staff Writer/Editor

Construction has begun on the Camp Perry RV Park and reservations are already being taken for teams who wish to use the park during the Nationals Matches.

Construction of 40 self-contained recreational vehicle spaces has started at Camp Perry, and team reservations for the sites are now being taken. The Park is located on the eastern side of Camp Perry where they will replace a helicopter landing area, which has been relocated. This project is part of a combined effort by the Ohio National Guard, Ohio General Assembly and Civilian Marksmanship Program to improve facilities at Camp Perry. The CMP contributed $190,000 to augment state funds and fund this project (see the First Shot article at http://www.odcmp.org/0206/default.asp?page=CHECK_PRES).

A major objective of the RV Park is to increase the number of housing units that are available at Camp Perry for National Matches competitors and to provide housing alternatives for other military and public customers. Each of the 40 RV Park sites will supply electric, water and sewer hook-ups for a daily rate of $30.89, including tax. The construction project is on schedule and camp sites are due to open on 1 July.

Crews are placing pipes to provide water and sewage for 40 campsites at the new Camp Perry RV Park, which is set to open 1 July.

Teams that have already made reservations and would like to move their reservations to an RV site instead may contact the Camp Perry Club House before 25 April. Teams that have not yet submitted requests for Camp Perry housing that would like to book RV sites, must indicate the number of sites they would like on a team reservation request form and submit it before 25 April. Individual National Matches competitors may submit reservations for RV park sites, starting on 25 April.

For more information or to book a reservation, contact the Camp Perry Club House at 888-889-7010 or 614-336-6214.
