The traditional four-wheeler, and....

....the ever-popular two-wheeler.

A Shooter's Caddy

You've traveled a thousand miles to get to Camp Perry. Now it's a question of how you haul your equipment to the ready line. You have lots of shooting gear and the distance from the parking lot to the firing line can be 1000-1500 yards or more. Most competitors have devised rather unique ways to get it all from here to there.

Clearly the most popular conveyance was the Tipke Manufacturing "Foldit" cart (seen above right), which, in checking with the manufacturer, was actually intended as "the most convenient boating accessory in years."

There were a number of shooters who favored the plastic garbage containers, which all appear to come in a variety of shades of the same color-- green.

Push or pull, wheel base is clearly a consideration in selecting the right cart for the job. For example, the plastic storage container on top of the lawn mower base probably seemed like a good idea. As one young shooter found out, however, his contraption hugged the ground low enough to cut grass.

Of course, the size of your cart is determined by the size of your load--pick too small of a cart, and your equipment would be hanging out over the sides. As shown below, though, we may suggest curbing your ambitions.
