Ohio Juniors Take Part in First CMP Match Day Clinic
-
For years, CMP has offered training in air rifle to experienced juniors and their coaches through the CMP Three-Position Junior Air Rifle Camps. This past weekend the focus was shifted to shooters who have never fired in a match. The CMP Match Day Clinic was designed to walk juniors and their coaches through the process of a three-position air rifle match. The idea was to provide those in attendance with the tools to coordinate and host their own matches, and foster connections among junior programs in Ohio.

-
Being part of a JROTC or ROTC rifle team is not only a good way for a cadet to gain the tools needed to bring them success in college such as character, discipline and responsibility; competitive shooting can also help provide the financial means needed to attend college. One way a cadet can receive money for college is to earn a rifle scholarship on an NCAA Rifle team. A second opportunity for a cadet to earn a college rifle scholarship is through the Civilian Marksmanship Scholarship Program for JROTC and ROTC rifle shooters.

By Gary Anderson, DCM
-
The German Shooting Federation (Deutscher Schützenbund) opened a new museum dedicated to target shooting in May 2004. On a recent vacation trip to German, I had an opportunity to visit this museum. Since the preservation and presentation of the history of the shooting sports is important to shooters in the United States as well as in Germany, I thought I would prepare this brief report on the new “Deutsches
Schützenmuseum.”
